"The most tragic father/son occurrence was in Tromso 2014. Peter Meier was on board 1 for Seychelles, and his father Kurt was on board 2. It was Kurt who died with a heart attack during the final round." Thanks Alex - How could I forget that... It is a day few of us in Tromso will forget, especiall...

Re: 4NCL International Congress

Michael, You would be hard pushed getting the police to act on this. I've personally been involved with fraud investigations at my previous employ where sums in orders of magnitude more than here were stolen and we could not get the police to act. My personal view is the same as yours, it is fraud, ...

Re: Repercussions / Fallout from FIDE Elections?

Honest Question John (I am asking as I attended one of the parties and didn't find it over extravagant and an excellent chance to catch up with old friends) What do you think cost Makro more? a) The parties and goodie bags b) Makros meltdown in the hall on the Kremlin, his woeful presentation on why...

Wonder if all the organisations that were supporting Nigel were aware of his intentions?
Upthread Andy Howie suggested he knew in advance. Were Scotland planning on voting for Nigel?

First two speeches have been Really good. I wonder of Makro can recover from the double blow of his meltdown over the Kremlin and Zurabs comment about Africa..

The FIDE website has details http://www.fide.com/fide/directory/fide-commissions.html?comid=88&task=committee There's no English representative, but Andy Howie of Scotland is listed. Several European...
