"PS re Holiday Inn, Maidenhead, I think they should have striven to have 3 people on Reception, especially between 1245 and 1400. There were only two when I was queuing at 1325."

They seemed to have 3 when people were checking out before today's game.

Perhaps they went to the same training course as my local pharmacist, where 0 or 1 people serves, whilst 5 or 6 lurk in the background picking things up and putting them down, have whispered conversations, and studiously examine pieces of paper.

Yes it took a long time to get 2 cups of coffee at 10 am. I ought to have picked up a sandwich too. I was not expecting to play 6 hours. Especially when we won 2 defaults to start with.
I thought my eyes were going wonky when I saw Kevin and his team with co-ordinated War and piece shirts.

That prompted their round 2 opponents captain to nervously check their registration list for the weekend
Maybe you caught them at a good time. Winter is coming..
After a combined score of 1.5/12 with white in our previous three matches against WR under my captaincy it was a relief to finally add a couple of wins.

To be fair, I was only playing on Sunday and Reception were very helpful explaining how to register for car parking, and coffee arrived quickly when I asked for it. If everyone arrives at the same time, it must make it difficult!

Almost certainly no but the 4NCL have delayed publicising a decision on the March, April and May weekends pending an announcement from the government early this week.

Captains have been advised to ask their players not to make any further arrangements for the time being.

The above is based on an e-mail from Mike Truran to captains yesterday.

I assume it's an oversight, but this comment has only been put against the 28 - 29 March matches (Divs 1, 2 and 3 North), not against the 4- 5 April matches (Divs 3 South, 4).

Yes - I was wondering that...

There has been an extremely long e-mail from Mike Truran concerning the future of the 4NCL for seasons 21/22 & 22/23 and outlining proposals.
I, or someone else, will outline these in a future posting for discussion.

However one key fact is that the 2019/20 season has been now been officially cancelled.

I've seen a Word document, and an Excel spreadsheet, which presumably is what is referred to

Maybe worth a separate thread?
Any postings on here represent my personal views

Clearly a new thread is called for. However I'm off to watch my local police chase the bad guys in Traffic Cops at 8.00pm - so if you're volunteering? :D
