4NCL Women's League

Well done to everyone involved here. A modest beginning - teams are not that strong yet. But 56 women took part: that's a step in the right direction.

Familiar names at the top after four rounds - Wood Green (8) and Guildford (6)

Onwards, upwards from Weekend 1

It was certainly a breakthrough weekend for Kate Walker, who after doing well in Minors went 4/4 against a lot of much higher rated opposition.

I wouldnt say it was not that strong - most of the players involved are decent standard, they grades are just hamstrung by the crippled fide rating system. 10 years ago pretty much everybody involved would have had 2000+ ratings.
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

Joey, even by your standards that is complete and utter rubbish.

Can you name the players you have in mind?

It looks like everyone enjoyed it from the Manchester report
We should note that but for some late withdrawals, Manchester would have fielded two teams and we are clear that we shall continue to enter teams in this event.
