I'm really looking forward to the final and I'm intending to do some commentary, obviously concentrating on Division 1 but maybe checking out other games as well. I wonder what team Guildford will field for the final!?
They don't have a great deal of choice:

Must be terrible, having a shortage of decent players :)

No disrespect meant to anyone on the list, it was my slightly tactless way of saying that they can't add anyone who hasn't already played.

No, my turn to apologise, I'll remember not to use irony in future.

That's sarcasm, not irony.

No worries Roger, I understood that it was irony. :D

My original comment was indirectly in answer to the question about who Guildford might have in the final. I wasn't sure if it was widely known that no further registrations were possible and if people might be expecting Guildford 2600s to descend en mass. They still have a very strong squad so a close final is in prospect.

I was wondering about wild cards, I mean risking someone else winning something to do with the 4NCL? Not really their usual style :)

There are no wild cards in the Online 4NCL. There's a further restriction that anyone playing in the final must have played at least once in the first 10 rounds and have been one of the registered players for the team when the team lists for round 10 were due for submission.

What follows is my unofficial version.

Finals -

Div 1 -

Chessable WR I v. Guildford Younguns

Div. 2 -

Wood Green Youth v. ChessPlus Beta

Div. 3 -

Brentwood v. Warwick U. B

Div. 4 -

Celtic Tiger Cubs v. Chessmates
As far as I can see all of the above has been confirmed.

(Commiserations to Bon Accord B who lost on tie-break in the Div. 4 semifinal.)

In live coverage events, is there anything other than honesty that prevents the players themselves listening in?

Not really, no, but the same goes for any form of outside assistance. I won't be using a computer to assist me so watching would likely be of little value in the Division 1 final I'll be concentrating on.

Could you broadcast with a small delay - I think Phil Makepeace does that for his simuls and other events.

Yes, I've gone for a stream delay as a sensible precaution.
