In addition to the 6 teams Lawrence mentioned, I'm aware of a further 4 teams that will play in 3 Central.Roger de Coverly wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 12:55 pmI would think the central division 3 is viable, not least because with venues at Leamington and Hinckley, some previous southern teams or players may be tempted.

Alternatively, you could speak with Alex McF and find outNickFaulks wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 12:41 pmI think the very fact that there is a gap where you would expect this information to be might suggest that a change could be under consideration. But we are of course guessing, with only a few weeks to go .Nick Burrows wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 12:30 pmUnless something dramatic changes, is there any reason to believe that the covid precautions the 4ncl have been following will suddenly change?

4NCL 2021-22 Season
We expect to publish Covid guidelines for the new season a couple of weeks before the first weekend of the new season given the present uncertainty about whether HMG guidance/rules in place at the moment will remain as they are or become more stringent.
There will be no problem with teams getting entry fee refunds after the 31 October entry deadline if the approach the 4NCL adopts is not to their liking, and bedroom bookings can as usual be cancelled without charge up to five working days before the first weekend.

It's amazing what you can sometimes achieve by adopting a suggestion made on this Forum, albeit that the 4NCL statement was actually issued by Mike Truran.
Thank you for the statement, Mike T.
Thank you for the nudge, Mick N.

Re: Sporting Terms
A quick update.
With 62 entries declared, it looks to me that approximately 24 teams will compete in the top division. This leaves 38 teams or so to compete in the three Third Divisions. Until teams location preferences are announced it is impossible to say what options have been taken up in South, Central & North. However from Mike Norris's analysis it seems that Division Three North is the one most at risk through insufficient entries.

Re: Sporting Terms
If there aren't any late twists I think that leaves the Division 1/2 swiss as 26 teams having lost 3Cs, Barbican 2, ADs, Kings Head & G/ford 3. Spirit of Atticus are listed but David Robertson on page 2 said that they would play in the northern div 3.Neil Graham wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 7:58 pmThat looks like the closing figure.LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 10:03 pmCambridge have now appeared and the number is up to 83 plus any that appear overnight.

Re: Sporting Terms
The Swiss would then be top 12 to Div 1 and next 12 to Div 2 for 2022/23 season? Or is it next 9 to Div 2, plus the winners of Div 3S, 3C and 3N?

The one team per club per division from 2022-23 may play a part in deciding who the top 12 are though.

Re: Sporting Terms
ADs are listed under T as The ADs. KIngs Head are also still present. Does that make it 28 teams? In practice there was a flurry of late entries. Did team managers feel that even with a scratch squad they would be better to attempt to cling to at least division 2 status rather than have to enter the potential groups of death represented by division 3, particularly 3S, in 2022-23?LawrenceCooper wrote: ↑Wed Nov 03, 2021 9:51 amIf there aren't any late twists I think that leaves the Division 1/2 swiss as 26 teams having lost 3Cs, Barbican 2, ADs, Kings Head & G/ford 3.

Looks like 28 then barring the final update and confirmation that the teams yet to pay did send their entry fee.
