I think the game was published in a Russian book shortly after. I definitely remember seeing the return game published (which was hysterically bad) where Andrew (not Shorn) got totally crushed. The Draun game may well have been a Bogo....I've a feeling it was something like that. I'm certain Keith will remember as he loves talking about the whole thing! Not sure if ShawnTallbot ever got to hear about it.....

Hi Nick,
I think we did have an audience - don't you remember Smyslov sitting in it for a while, and then the team being introduced to him later?

There was a great full spread about the whole adventure by an accompanying journalist called something like Michael Kretzmer - in a Coventry paper I think.

Do you remember how tense the atmosphere was in Moscow? We traveled there just days after the Russians had shot down a Korean passenger jet.

Hi Keith. I knew you'd remember it better than me. I don't really remember the audience but I had heard rumours that Smyslov was coming to scout me. Yes the Korean jet thing forced us to go through the Berlin wall as there were no direct flights to Moscow. We also decided (imagined) that the strange bloke who never spoke and hung around all the time was KGB to keep an eye on our non playing captain who was a plod (sorry Ernie I mean constable). Was your win widely published? If not why not post it here...

Yes they were terrified that pc plod was some kind of undercover agent. There were one or two mysterious characters hanging around him.
The game was **** - he just dropped the exchange so no you ain't gettin' it here!
