Best annotated game prize - £250

Post by Maxim Devereaux » Tue May 19, 2009 11:30 am

If you haven't heard about this from another source, this is to draw your attention to the fact that the 4NCL has been offering a prize of £250 for the best annotated game from the league this season. All team captains have been notified and asked to inform their players of this, but this award is open to anyone, not just those currently playing in the league.

The deadline for entries is 31st May, so there's only a couple of weeks left to get your entry in.

Anyone wishing to enter a game should bear the following in mind:

1. Entries will be judged not primarily on the standards of the play exhibited, but on the level of insight, relevance, possibly humour etc. demonstrated by the annotations.
2. It is not necessary for the annotator to have been one of the participants in the game, simply that the game needs to have been played in the 4NCL during 2008/9.

Entries should be sent, preferably as a zipped PGN or Chessbase CBV file, though a link to a webpage with the game annotated on it is also acceptable, to one of the 4NCL management board (possibly me as I will be judging the award) and/or the webmaster Peter Sowray. Our email addresses can be obtained from the 4NCL website at http://www.4ncl.co.uk/mgt_board.htm.
