It is almost impossible to run an 11 Round Swiss with 16 teams without the pairings jamming up - in the last 2 rounds last year Ashfield-Breadsall 2 played the top team Sussex Martlets 2 in Round Ten followed by the bottom team Barnet Knights 3 in Round 11. So 2 x 8 please!

Where roughly should your 2 teams be in the seedings, do you think?

I'd assume the others would be roughly:

Gonzaga
Cheddleton 2
Manchester Manticores 1
3Cs 2
Spirit of Atticus B
Manchester Manticores 2
Bradford DCA Knights B
Manchester Manticores 3
Manx Liberty
Bradford DCA Knights C
Holmes Chapel
Jorvik
3Cs 3
Manchester Manticores 4
A-B 1 towards the bottom of the top half (they were seeded 9th in Div Three South last year but did better than that)
A-B 2 towards the bottom of the lower half.

Hopefully No 17 will be Broadlands... that would add some spice to the top order.
And if an 18th member can come forward to join the party, all the better..!!

It maybe Broadland, but according the the 4NCL website, their top board last year is looking for a team; so maybe not or weaker team

Shame that Broadlands cannot make it... so it seems
I guess travel issues might be a factor... the journey from Norwich in the east is quite a call, with no easy trips. but, even without their top board IM, Broadlands do look a decent side, and with some additional support... who knows..

Now that the 17th team is known for 4NCL North, although I`ve not heard of them, it would be good if an 18th team could be found, or maybe Leeds Uni Old Boys could transfer across.
I`d like this.. it would add weight to div 3N, round the numbers, and it would enable a Div 4 team to move up...in fact, I`d suggest maybe 3 teams moved up to create a Div 3 `South` also with 18 teams..!

At some future date it might be good if some other venues were available to balance out travel issues, and provide more variety..
Maybe looking at places like Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Oxford, and Bristol in the South & Western quarters... but I appreciate this is not easy.
Yes, and a slight restructure of the Divs 3 & 4 might be worth considering at some point to triangulate the regions, so the south east, south west, and north east are given some easier travel trips....
But that's for another day...

18 on the website now - Enniscorthy and Hounds and Bears seemingly the new teams. Enniscorthy is another place in Ireland it seems! Equipped with a handy looking hoard of juniors from their website.

No idea at all about H&B.

Division Four North now shows 18 entries - we can now amuse ourselves trying to work out an equitable way to deal with how to operate this division.

Of more concern is that several teams have neither entered nor paid their entry fee despite clear reminders from the 4NCL. One of these is White Rose. Bearing in mind the fate of e2-e4 last season these sides are on a fine line of being removed.

To clarify my last post - the teams who have failed to enter and pay entry fees all have multiple entries spanning all four divisions. Hounds & Bears have entered but have not sent in an entry fee. Those teams who haven't entered are White Rose (Divs 1 & 2), Anglian Avengers (Divs 1 & 3); Kings Head (Div 1), Cambridge University (Divs 2 & 3); Shropshire (Divs 3 & 4), Barnet Knights (Div 4). Should any of these teams drop out it will mean re-structuring of the Divisions.

After the e2e4 late payment of entry fees and subsequent removal from the league; I suspect that if any of the team Neil listed haven't paid their fee there will be no option other than match the events which happened with e2e4

Neil, the website isn't up to date - I'm afraid we've all had other things on our minds what with two separate 4NCL events taking place this weekend. All the teams have either paid or explicitly confirmed by email that they will be settling up in the next day or so.

18 is impressive and makes the swiss a little easier

An even number is good too

The website showed an update of the entries page today - 1st October - so one might have assumed it was updated on the basis of entries received by the dreaded 30th September date :D. Whilst you are "in the building" perhaps you can advise on who "Hounds and Bears" are? A search of Google only brings up some rather unsavoury links to various hunting scenarios.
