So possibly two Manchester Manticores teams in division two next year, or possibly one, or conceivably none. Good luck with that final weekend!

Thanks; yes, all 3 possibilities still on

The 2nd team were asking about what happens if they get promoted and the first team gets relegated

First time I have stayed at Doncaster; nice hotel

….
People always ask that! Don't think it has yet happened but you would still enter two teams and they would be subject to the same 80 point rule, so you would probably carry on as normal. Some second team players might feel a bit disgruntled, of course ….

I seem to remember that many years ago this happened to a London League club ( Lewisham? ). In those days you couldn't have two teams in the same division, and a careful reading of the rules revealed that the second team had to go down to Div 3. That really was cause for disgrunt!

Is there still the option of running separate squads? That might be a way around it?

We faced this problem a few years back after our 'A's got dumped back in Div 3N, joining our recently-formed 'B's. We were planning a third team too.

So, at our National Strategic Planning Committee, held before our Grand Gala Dinner each year, I was charged to come up with suitable names for the different squads. Spirit of Atticus would be retained; and over dinner, I announced the second name: Spirit of Tacitus.

This met with general approval, colleagues noting my inventiveness in preserving a continuity of classical excellence in the names. And the third name? All eyes turned to me. An expectant hush descended upon the table. For the third name, I proposed - well, what else could I offer? - for the third squad name, I suggested Spirit of Cat Suit

The silence was punctuated by the far-off chime of a single bell. Eyes shifted and colleagues slowly drifted away. In due course, we settled for A, B, C

Final Weekend Pairings

Computer says "NO"

Alex McF says "Oh, No!"

Captains say "OMG!! No!"

Players say "Triangular match in a single day? WTF, OMG, ROFL, NO!!"

Back to the Drawing Board says "Leave it with me"

Everyone says "NO, NO, NO"

I've put a suggestion to Alex, following the withdrawal of Bradford C from the final weekend

I think we just want to see that the top 4 promotion contenders have actually played each other during the season

Jorvik in 5th can reach 16 points, but that wouldn't be enough if Shrops (16) and WR (16) both play MM2 (15) at some stage as well as each other, as this means 2 teams will get to at least 17 points

Well that leaves it interesting :) Great result from the 3C's 2 lower boards to get the 3-3 draw in that match and Manchester winning as well.
