Congratulations to Manchester University who prevailed over seven other teams to win the tournament, with Sheffield Durham Alumni and Manchester University B team who also made it through to the Grand Final!

Nice to see there a few chess players amongst our utterly massive student population
(The Universities presence in the Manchester league has been very variable.).

It seems a bit strange to penalise teams with a 2-2 scoreline with a 3-1-0 scoring system. The usual motivation for such schemes is to discourage draws, but drawn matches with decisive games are a natural result in a team competition.

And, they still owe the MCF money from the season they withdrew halfway through, which is irritating since I was promised payment by a University staff member
