So, after all that Gawain has R+2P for B & N - fairly balanced material. However, Black's 2 remaining K-side pawns are isolated and weak. While White has solid pawns and a more normal position. 13.Qb3+ Qd5 - will Gawain exchange Qs?
No, of course not, 14.c4 and the pressure mounts...

Must go now, but I will be watching intermittently and will check back later.

Today's featured matches are not the ones I would have chosen; I would definitely have put e2e4 v ADs and South Wales Dragons v Barbican 2 on live boards. I suspect this would have put me at odds with Mr Olly.

Despite the strictures of "Fred Olly" (whoever he is), a jolly good end to the season. Congratulations to champions/promoted teams, and commiserations to relegated teams.
