New English Chess site

Post by John Upham » Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:05 pm

Greetings,

You might have some interest in a new site dedicated to certain important aspects of English Chess :

http://www.ecf.org.uk/ :D

The registrant is :

Domain name:
ecf.org.uk

Registrant:
JM Internet Ltd

Registrant type:
Unknown

Registrant's address:
15 Brit View Road
West Bay
Dorset
DT6 4HY
United Kingdom

Who is going to hold their hand up (not Yours Truly BTW)?

One important question for me: How did they manage to get their Sims to play chess? Mine just get angry when I try to get them to play...

Not keen on that one to be honest as that domain should be registered to the ECF in my opinion regardless of it's somewhat dodgy nature :!:

Sims need to be in a good mood to do any skill-building activity.

That domain used to be Edinburgh Christian Fellowship.

I think you are correct. When it seemed that BCF would become ECF there were some people who registered such web addresses. I was a director at that time and chose to see what that particular one was all about. There was an interesting connection to an individual/organisation much further south than Edinburgh but not as far as Dorset. Perhaps the web address has been re-activated just to be mischievous.

It's a Julian May domain, not that it matters very much :!:

My hunch is that it may be the person in the picture! My other guess is that as its English her name will be Smith.

The person in the picture is, if I am not mistaken, Alexandra Kosteniuk.
