Good luck with this venture.

I too often took ideas from Addicts.
I see I'm mentioned also as a source...you are doomed.

Take it or leave it advice.

Cater for and don't forget the under 1600's they hardly get a mention anywhere.
Yet these are guys who put their hand in their pockets for
books, DVD's mags, club subs....

So use their games and pictures as often as possible.
These games write their own notes.

You will unearth some incredible games that would remain hidden forever
so in this respect you will doing the chess world a service.

Never worry about showing a horrible blunder from a good player.
And do not make excuses for them. Leave that for the cliche of
modern writers who accompany each ? with an excuse why it happened.

A blunder is a blunder. We all do it.

I received this once from a player who had blundered
badly in an ending...remember it is deep in the ending.

"....I think it's unfair you showing my mistake in ??? v ???
I had not played that opening for 10 years."

If you see anything from the Corner you can use or give a different
slant too then take it. (no need to acknowledge - in years to come
the punters will think I nicked it from you!).

Good Luck

Cheers Geoff, appreciate it. We're definitely going to try to appeal to amateurs as much as possible.

The column should really start kicking off properly next week with daily updates from the British. Get involved! extremelydistressingnews@gmail.com

After a dressing down in the form of a letter, we've decided to put a content warning on the site. We don't want anyone who chokes from the overall hilarity suing us.

A special thank you to everyone who contributed to us smashing our record for daily hits on November 16th in the wake of this high-risk article. The total of 409 nearly doubled our previous best of 205. Keep your eyes peeled for more and please keep contributing. What would you like to see more of?

Alright, so we're a little too far past Easter to claim this as a resurrection. But it's not quite Ascension Day, so I suppose it counts. We're not ready to join the great chess blog of the sky just yet.

A comeback.

Do we know who is being referred to:
What finally made up my mind to say no was the continued involvement of one single diminutive individual, who contributes nothing positive to the event, spoils the atmosphere every year, and is universally hated by every other member of the organisational team, but to whose face nobody on the Congress Committee is prepared to tell the truth.

I do not want to be associated with this comment. I think Con Power does a tremendous amount of work for Hastings. :D

Or have I misunderstood?
