The official FIDE forum appears to have suffered a similar fate as another well known forum but less severe.

http://forum.fide.com/ now redirects to http://www.forum.com/

There was recent criticism of FIDE for a proposed rule for the Dresden Olympiad in that both players had to be at the board for the start of the game. Shock horror you might well exclaim. What ever next?

I wonder if this is a sign of the times for official fora : shut it down or debrand it.

Perhaps Robert Mugabe has some influence?
