According to LiChess, when Black ran out of time in this game White got the point. However, according to FIDE it should've been a draw as after
1. g7+ Kg8
2. gxR=Q/R K/QxQ/R White cannot mate.
Underpromotion doesn't work too.
Any thoughts from any arbiters?!

Yes, this is a known point where chess server rules don't quite match up with FIDE rules.

It's well known that Lichess and Chess.com get this sort of thing wrong.
In an official event like the Online Olympiad the arbiter should intervene to declare the game drawn.

I'm not sure 'get this wrong' is quite fair; the servers are quite open that their rules for evaluating this sort of position don't accord with FIDE rules, because of the high overhead of asking 'can mate be constructed?' on the final position as 'dead' positions are hard for engines to tell.

ie when they are being used in games played under the FIDE Laws of Chess, they get these positions wrong. I don't think they are being criticised for that, and if a miniscule number of cases require manual intervention by an arbiter, I don't see that as a major problem.
It does require the arbiters to know what they are doing.

I have heard about Eric's situation before.
It was something like this.
1. Rxh2+ Bxh2 game stopped and declared a draw by the onsite computer. White has mate in one.

It should be an option to appeal results online in and if the engine says yes it is a forced win/draw then the loss on time gets instantly corrected to the right result- I once had a guy play nearly 200 moves in a dead drawn opposite bishop endgame once in desperation to win on time, so anything that ruins results for idiots like that would get a big thumbs up from me!

Was it a computer from the 70s?
