I'm hoping one of the kind souls here could help.. I'm looking to find out my BCF grade history between 1988 (possibly 89) to ~1994 (when the digital rating history begins). At that time I was a junior playing in Hampshire, at Fareham CC. I stopped playing in '92, I think - but I'm not 100% sure!

Someone will have these grading lists.
The ones John Saunders has uploaded to Britbase seem to go from 1953 to 1984 (so far).
https://www.saund.co.uk/britbase/britbasedocuments.html
I think Richard James may have other years as well. Some others will have some copies as well. If no-one sees this and replies in a few days to a week, it might be worth someone pointing this request out to them in case it got missed.
Really, the ECF should have a full set as well. But who has responsibility for that I am not sure.

The lists went national from about 1986. Whether any BCF backups or files have survived from then is another matter. I would expect a few printed copies should still be around.Christopher Kreuzer wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2026 3:17 pmReally, the ECF should have a full set as well. Hampshire have decent archives, so perhaps worth searching for that period.

1989 - 90
1990 - 106
1991 - 125
1992 - 128
1993 - not listed
1994 - not listed
In the interests of maintaining the accuracy of the rating database, entry 21 on this list is you. Are you also any of entries 17 - 20?

Thanks everyone, and Ian particularly - that's fantastic, very much appreciated!
Yes, I think 17, 19 & 20 are also me.

I can confirm you were graded 125 in January 1992 when you beat me at the Basingstoke Minor! I had beaten top seed Kieron Smallbone in the first round with a stinking hangover. But after that my tournament well south and he went on to win his remaining games.

All now merged into 102405L so this code now lists your handful of previous games and should be the one used if you start playing again.Phil Haigh wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2026 6:23 pmThanks everyone, and Ian particularly - that's fantastic, very much appreciated!
