Re: British Chess Championships 2010
Huge think from Peter Wells for his 17th move. I wonder if he's thinking about Nxc5?
Edit: Yes! He's gone for it!

Think I've seen this whole game somewhere before Qd1-a4, c4-c5 Nd2-b3xc5, Ra1-b1 All thematic, all instructive.

Re: British Chess Championships 2010
So White wants to play Rb1xb7 followed by Bf1-a6 et cetera, whilst Black wants to play g4xf3, Rg8xg3, f3xg2, etc. Anyone got Fritz on this?

All I know is that I'd rather be White in that position. I think Justin said he wouldn't be watching this afternoon. Surely someone else out there has an engine to feed this into?
After Ba8 White has Bb5.

Then Bxc7 perhaps?
Anyway, Adams has played 18. ... Nb4 (rather than Ba8), which looks quite nasty.

Pete played 19. cxb4. Is 19. ... Rxd4 any good for black now?

Re: British Chess Championships 2010
Presumably not, then, as Adams chose ... c4 instead.

Re: British Chess Championships 2010
After 20. Qxa7 White still has an attack. I'm more worried by the simple 19. ... gxf3.
Edit: 19. ... c4 - that's a strange one.
