'some people are not permitted to be identified' - I recall the head of transport security was anonymous in a Departmental organisational chart, but I'm pretty sure his name was included. I accept there are national security considerations, but surely the presumption should be that attendees should be published unless there are strong reasons rather than little to no information. And it doesn't help confidence in government if there are people present as guests for unexplained reason.

Oh dear, my cover (pun intended) has been blown! Yes, I am a 'sagacious' drapery manager...

By "worrying" I was trying (poorly) to articulate concern that simplistic newspaper reporting might stoke concern about the wrong things in the wrong area. Though maybe that is more due to the secrecy rather than specific individuals.

It is difficult to see one's own biases though. Some in the UK chess community will know Demis personally, and it is difficult to separate that from the whole AI and Deep Mind and Google association, and it is the AI and the Google connections that will lead to preconceptions from many hearing of these connections for the first time.
