Can't Gelfand ignore e3 and play for mate with the knights? Rc8+ Kh7 36 Rc7+ then if king back Nd7?

Whilst 36. Rc7+ Kg8 37. Nxe6 looks mating too

Stick a knight on e5, take away g6 and f7. Use the rook and other knight.
