Not sure if this has popped up in the thread yet, but Ramirez managed one round of this tournament in Mexico on the 8th August before the mothers of juniors at the event demanded he leave; https://chess-results.com/tnr769763.asp ... g=30&snr=3

Would anyone remotely trust the ECF ...
A very helpful and constructive attitude. You wouldn't want it to be tested and found wrong, would you?

No go on - how much would you bet that since 1998 there haven’t been a number of borderline criminal/actually criminal behavours reported to the ECF (or any number of chess federations) that have been un-actioned or ignored? I don’t know the numbers but you can already see that within the accounts of Sabrina Chevannes and Susan Polgar that that is one of factors in play here.

I think this is a serious forum, although it has obviously gone downhill in recent weeks.

It would appear the this place has recently acquired its very own village idiot reducing the tone to an all time low.

Please don't try to extend this now to other federations, your comment was aimed specifically at the ECF.

Within the tenure of any of the twelve current directors, I would bet heavily that the number is zero, and you know you are not going to take the other side of that.

The ECF has had a complaints procedure for a number of years, set up originally, I believe to enable complaints of engine cheating to be handled. In practice it seemed to get used as a means of settling scores between feuding directors.

Sabrina's latest allegations relate back to her treatment by the ECF at or around the time when she was joint manager of women's chess. This had previously appeared on the forum. I think one of the current directors was an alternate director at the time.

Libel laws and moderation permitting, this forum has acted as an unofficial complaints vehicle for a number of years,

I've really enjoyed following the forum over the last few years, though I am not sure that going down the route of a gossip column and innuendo is the way it should be taken as there are other outlets that cater for such tastes and the content here is largely professional and informative, though I appreciate I rarely post and may be in the minority.
I totally agree with you Simon
I feel very uncomfortable about some of the comments on this thread
I am rather more uncomfortable about the allegations now coming from multiple sources, but each to their own.

This really isn't very helpful, John, we don't need more personal attacks.

The problem is that I would like to recommend this place for interested persons but in the last few weeks I have been unable to do so due to the embarrasing nonsense being posted. I've not named any persons but I presume you know who I am referring to.

You're entitled to your opinion but I doubt that personal attacks help to make this place one to be recommended.

As to the situation in English chess, while I don't disagree with Matt Bridgeman that reporting to the police is one option, although the unsuccessful apprehension of one individual even after he appeared on CrimeWatch suggests that this isn't guaranteed to produce an outcome, the alternative is to report to the ECF. Again, I agree that this doesn't appear to have a particularly good record of success but, if people are going to argue "no point reporting to the ECF because nothing happens", they can't be surprised when (because of the absence of reports) nothing does happen. Worst case scenario is no reporting at all, in which case any offenders will feel free to continue.

X/Twitters Mr Dodgy is showing screenshots of recently deleted direct messages to teenaged girls, suggesting Nigel may be in a panic at his point. The snowball may be rolling down the hill.
Recently deleted? Magnus Carlsen was still world champion when he first posted this…..
