though if oyu look his average opponents rating is surprisingly low for 5.5/7

From memory you need a rating of 2300+ and to have played at least 24 games, but they might have changed that last bit.

The Championship is 40 moves in 2 hours, followed by 20 moves in one hour followed by all moves in 30 minutes. I note that this is different from the Major Open which is 40 moves in 80 minutes, then all moves in 40 minutes with one minute per move added from the start.

Is it a good time to point out hat he spelt "copyright" wrong?

The thing is, it's difficult to tell whether the games he loses are because of the opening strategy or because of being outplayed later in the game. The non-standard openings may lead to problems in the middle-game that wouldn't be experienced if a "normal" opening was used.

I know someone who plays 1. e4 Nf6 2. e5 Ng8 and claims that it's winning for black. He's a much better player anyway though, so we can't tell whether it's the "brilliance" of the opening, or the fact that he'd beat us if he just played sensibly anyway.

king gambit all in for williams but howell played nc6 which has lost 54 games from 54 is it going to be 55from 55 . better is belived to g5 or Bg4 all games working here.so did howell not guess the kings gambit would come in simons prep.??

I do not believe that Howell's ...Nc6 has had 54 previous outings and lost every single one! Where are you getting those statistics from ??
