Hi Andrew

in the second link "Part 3 of 3 - Going from a second rank defence into the Philidor Position" there are some problems and I expect you have not consulted tablebases. You have not taking into account the stalemate defenses 2.Kc6? Re6+! losing 3 moves because 3.Qxe6 is stalemate. Also 5.Ke6? Rg6+! with an even worse outcome, losing about 10 moves.
