i think zhou missed somthing there because after nxf7 and qh6 i think he should of had something.i belive there must have been something there .think conquest is better in the howell game wells williams very unclear there.

The Conquest - Howell game has been really interesting , as well.

Three hours gone, number of developed pieces = 4 (5 if you count the knight on the side of the board with no squares).

Not spectacular but I'm enjoying Arkell's game against Eggleston too.

wow ne2+ was much better. now rad1 for zhou and buckley could be in trouble i got feeling buckley spent a long time getting out of the mess he was in though.as i have no clock time here.buckley in hot water now again after qh8 rd7+ very strong.qxh8 and kxh8 re7 and buckley in hot water.gordon v greet has draw all over it.

i dont like howell postion at all there seems a lot of holes and the na5 is misplaced as well as e5 weak also.

I suppose I am partial to the Conquest game because I've played the 8Bd3 line of the 2 Knights for about 6 years (with great success).

If White can eventually untangle his position he just ends up a pawn ahead with good chances.

Presumably a tie - which could be very possible - is not going to be resolved by a play-off since Howell and Williams, amongst others, are starting the Staunton Memorial in London on saturday afternoon.

that a joke that its overlapping cannot be a tie then maybe blitz playoff if those two involved will be straight after last round?

Normally it completely overlaps so there's no chance of anybody playing both.

I'm guessing a blitz play-off after already playing several hours of chess will not be a popular idea amongst those involved ... especially if they've got to travel up to London to start a new tournament the next day.
