Equally important might be can David draw it! I suspect Christian is the one playing for a win.

Computer suggesting Kc3 (or 2) Kc5 and Kb2 seems quite a strange idea to play over the board

Exactly - shouldnt you be trying to blockade the pawns with Nc2 and creep up gradual. Sorry Nc2 has been played

I am guessing that it's draws in both our matches today. Elsewhere, the "youthful" Harikrishna wins for India again, Ukraine win but suffer another individual loss, and Armenia win their 4,564th match by 2.5-1.5. Ireland will be very happy with 3-1 v Venezuela, beating everyone under 2600, but Wales will be embarassed by their meagre score against Algeria. One assumes.

Incidentally, my idea fails since you can't put the N on d4 - Doh! Sorry all

No criticsm of Sarah Hegarty intended (it looks like they were in time trouble at this point), but it looks like she missed quite a nice winning move in her game yesterday.

Yes, on move 37. A real shame that her unbeaten record in Olympiads has come to an end but she can still be very proud of her 7.5/9, 2/3 which was so nearly 3/3.

Sarah's game was complicated at the best of times and the last few moves had all the hallmarks of a time-trouble scramble. A shame, but these things happen in chess.

I just listened to Adrian Mikhalchisin's (Turkey's women's coach) press conference and he made a very interesting point about Women's chess. They put in a lot more effort at the board than men, they rarely walk around etc. So when they get beyond 3 hours, they are much more tired than men which is why they are more prone to blunders.

I've only just noticed that Chris Ross is in the International Braille Chess Association team and has 2/2 so far.
