While freely acknowledging the veracity of the comments, posted above, we all know that covert 'centaurs' must exist in cyberspace. And, in my estimation, from that spawning ground, some have emerged alive and kicking - certain otb GMs still bear the scars
As for the FIDE titles - they're not what they used to be.Then again, in today's world, precious little is, either.

Happy to believe that some correspondence players can be 200 or 300 points better than otb. One need only think of CJS Purdy, for instance. A decent IM for the time, otb, but the first correspondence world champion. Certainly no computer assistance, back then.
