More than that we did not need to know

What
I presume that you were not invited. I was, but I didn't go.

Organising such a meeting is not particularly difficult. You just need to find an MP to sponsor it and attend.

You may remember that in his early years in Parliament (1983 onwards) Jeremy Corbyn was accused of inviting rather more dangerous individuals than RDK.

Which pop-up organisation invited you then?

And which MP was induced to think that Ray had something useful to say on the subject of, ah "Cultural Heritage and Leadership"?

I don't regard that any of your business, but for the record it was my invitation was from RDK himself.

I don't know. I have been trying to identify an MP in the photograph. Can anyone help?

Is Jeremy Corbyn living rent free inside David's head as well as Rishi's ?
Not really. Jeremy Corbyn doesn't annoy me as much as a few other people do.

It's an event in the House of Commons, David, not your front room or Ray's and for that matter not a community hall. It's not a private function.

Well that's odd, isn't it? I mean if you need an MP to sponsor it, you'd think their name would be on the invitations?

I mean I don't think the proper use of the House of Commons is for a disreputable shyster to treat as a personal podium (it was bad enough when he used to do this with the House of Lords) and I'm keen to know the mechanism by which he's allowed to do this.

Indeed not. I think it may have been technically open to the public,

What I said was that it was not your business who asked me if I personally was interested in attending.

I have been to formal events organised by Ray Keene at the House of Lords where that has indeed been the case.

I have also been to meetings at the House of Commons at various times during the last 45 years or so where I have not known who the sponsoring MP was until I got there.

So I don't find it at all odd.

I think it is very much the public's business who holds meetings at the House of Commons, and we both understand that this is what the question meant.

Ray Keene asked me if I would like to go along. It could equally well have been someone else who knew that the meeting was happening.

This is by no means the first time that I have come under attack for responding to your posts. In future I shall probably ignore them.

I suggest that you put any further questions to the House of Commons authorities.

David, can you tell us the purpose of the meeting at the House of Commons to which you were invited by Ray Keene?

That struck me as reasonable, but I suppose it is more entertaining to keep hectoring people here. If I knew more ( I have no wish to ), I expect I would consider the event a gross waste of public funds, but hardly on the scale of HS2.
If you want a picture of the future, imagine a QR code stamped on a human face — forever.

RDK was giving a talk on the subject of Cultural Heritage and Leadership, as mentioned in Justin's first post on the subject.

Am I missing something?

I don't know for certain, but I imagine that a fee was payable.

That is another question that Justin may like to pursue.
