Roger's absence reminds me of a pensioner fiend of mine who was stopped by the police on the M6 while bombing along on his motorbike.
"Excuse me, Sir," said one of the officers, "Do you know your wife fell off the back about a mile down the road?"
My friend replied: "That God for that - I thought I'd gone deaf."

Sounds accurate!

If most of the time the virus spreads indoors, why are we being told to stay home?

The idea is not to meet people in case they are infected.

Keep them coming, Danny. Some of us got the joke.

it's not just a joke though, it's also the point that most people are picking it up from surfaces indoors.

i read something today that there's very little evidence you can get it from passing someone on a street or outside, and now they want to cut down on all these things like sunbathing and jogging and so on.

any excuse to turn us into a police state i guess.

Reports say Boris was put on oxygen in hospital last night. If the full lock-down happens, I wonder if they'll announce it on Thursday evening prior to the long bank holiday weekend. A two week lock-down to potentially catch the virus peak. Who knows?!

True, I should have said "got the point".

A correspondent of mine in France reports that, on completing his weekly outing to the village shop, he said he didn't need the receipt but was told by the helpful assistant that he absolutely must take it. Some of the villagers had been subjected to large spot fines by the gendarmes on their way home for being unable to show evidence of their reason for being out.

Were their full shopping bags not good enough? No, apparently the official view is that, in the absence a timestamped receipt, they probably bought the groceries earlier and were using them as cover for an illicit breath of fresh air.

Johnson's Britain is not Macron's France, and let us pray that it never will be, but we should still be aware....

Can you source that for us?
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

Well, I would report that post, except I notice somebody else has done so already.

I guess the point is that if you see something like this

it would be good to actually see that "something" so that we can evaluate it.

Steady on please, Danny. This is supposed to be a support thread.

After deciding to delete a post of mine earlier in the thread, I have resolved just to ignore posts which annoy me.

As Hugh Alexander once said, follow my advice, not my example.

If this is a ‘support thread’ I will post this link to a YouTube video

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HwLzAdrie ... e=youtu.be

It was linked from the bbc, so I assume it is all bona fide. It may offer some useful advice to people with coVid19 symptoms.
