A few days ago I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Natasha Regan and Matthew Sadler for their YouTube video series entitled 'Chess for Life in the Time of Corona'.
Link to the interview with me here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4phbZ3YwtM&t=22s
This is the sixth video in the series so far, which features various British and Irish chess people talking about their continuing role in chess as they (I'm looking for a suitable euphemism here) enter their twilight years. This relates to the subject of the interviewers' celebrated book 'Chess for Life' in which they demonstrate how older players can adapt their game to maximise results. Natasha Regan also asks how interviewees are coping with the current lockdown state. Then the interviewee presents a favourite or memorable game, with GM Sadler posing questions and giving feedback. In my case, I chose a game I played with the late Dave Rumens at a weekender in 1978 featuring a miraculously lucky king walk to freedom.

What a brilliant series. I would thoroughly recommend to all.
Just by chance, I interviewed Natasha and Matthew for a Chess Magazine article on Friday. I'm writing a piece on other games that chess players enjoy. Their insights and experiences were absolutely fascinating. We also explored AI a bit and talked about Game Changer, their book on AlphaZero. We are now truly in a world where us humans need to learn from the machines!
Natasha and Matthew are so engaging and I'm really looking forward to writing up the article. I'm sure their YouTube Channel will continue to be a great success.

Pish and fie sir, you're lucky to be in twilight, it's pitch dark here.
Back on topic, a good series, very welcome entertainment, when I can persuade the internet to work.

Two more videos have been added to this series:
Mark Page (current joint British Over-65 Champion): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAictoSmGh4
FM Simon Bibby (long resident in Japan): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_ahMfqP6fY
After the interviews, both of them give wins against GMs - Mark's win against Mark Hebden from a 2019 rapidplay, and Simon's win against Glenn Flear from the 1990 British Championship. Well worth watching.

Excellent series with the latest one being Steve Giddins commentating on coaching Matthew, his time in Russia and his win against Vaganian. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6403hE ... pp=desktop
