Ive been playing 15 + 10s on Lichess and don't think I've faced a cheat yet

I'd have said the same thing until a few days ago when I got a message from lichess saying I'd been credited with rating points lost to a cheat.

I couldn't work out which game it was, even assuming the number of points returned equalled the number of points lost (which I assume it would).

I suspect I do know now though because the most likely game was against someone with an account that is now closed, where the player was most likely claiming to be someone he was not - a highly rated grandmaster. Not very likely to be true when the account had played over 100 games and the player's lichess rating was several hundred points lower than the GM's FIDE rating.
