36 entrants so far for Northumberland Congress down from 38. One withdrew and the other I miscounted as number 1 on the list is where Mick had put the title of surname and forename.
I received a text from Noel on Saturday who is running the Harrogate Congress and he has informed me that he has started to receive entries.

Still very early days, but reinfection within 4 and half months is slightly ominous for potential vaccines. We'd have to see how this story develops;

Dr Jeffrey Barrett, from the Wellcome Sanger Institute, said: “It is very hard to draw firm conclusions from the press release alone. Some of the paper has been published on social media, which fills in some gaps, though we’re still waiting for the full paper.”
Well yes: there's not much we can say that's useful about research that we've not properly seen and which the people discussing it haven't properly seen either.
"Do you play chess?"
"Yes, but I prefer a game with a better chance of cheating."

1 in 23 million :roll:

BBC
The World Health Organization warns it is important not to jump to conclusions based on the case of one patient.

And experts say reinfections may be rare and not necessarily serious.

There have been more than 23 million cases of coronavirus infection around the world.

The vaccines won't offer anything like 100% immunity anyway. They don't need to. Just knock it down by a big enough percentage that it can't reach uncontrolled spread.

Then it can go and join measles and all the other fairly horrible diseases that we've got controlled.

Professor Sir John Bell on Channel 4 News last night talked about the Oxford vaccine potentially having a 60-70% effectiveness, although they won't know for sure until early autumn when they get the readout data.

Are you playing Tim? Who are the other English players that have entered?
We have a mutual friend. John Cooper at Lytham St Anne's chess club. I hear you have been playing him online.

Tim is joined by Peter Sowray and Tom Wiley. Tom would appear to be resident in Central Europe.
