I was hoping that this was not true but it would appear to be.

2020 is the first year since 1979 that no single British chess person received any kind of FIDE honour and then 1971 before that.

However I may be wrong since the FM title was introduced about that time and I have yet to find a reliable source of the year when various FM titles were claimed. I'd be grateful for any help with this. Both Felice and Gaige are somewhat hit and miss in their recording of FM titles.

Not a lot of FI'DE chess in 2020. 0/0 for me.

If that means CC IM and GM, I think it's because FIDE recognize ICCF as the "official" organizer for Correspondence Chess, as ECF recognizes EFCC. But that is a guess.

Emma-Jane Billington Phillips's title application has been approved, but has not yet come into effect.

Hok Chiu's application has still to be considered, I am not saying that it won't be approved, simply that that has not yet happened.

I learned to day that the ECF will probably be submitting another FA title application for the next FIDE Council meeting.

"What is EFCC?"

English Federation for Correspondence Chess. It used to be BPCF (British Postal Chess Federation), but then it became English, as there were bodies for Scotland and Wales and at least one Ireland.
