Re: Digital clock repairs
I fixed my first DGT clock today, seems to work again ok, so if anyone is stuck send me a message and I'll try and help walk you through getting it open
Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

Re: Digital clock repairs
Hi Mick,
I ended up with 21 DGT 2010s and 3 3000s, and felt I didn’t really need any more for my purposes (and can borrow a few more clocks if needed)
In the end the 3000s were something a bit fancier to distinguish the top boards, but no extra functionality that I use,
Cheers
Joe

Do the 3000s have a quarter inch jack socket to allow the timer to talk to a DGT live board?Joseph Conlon wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 8:24 pmHi Mick,

For some strange reason DGT omitted this from the 2010s but had it on the XLs.

Re: Digital clock repairs
I have found myself quite frequently on a live board in recent tournaments and the clock is always one of the red ones with a seconds display from the start. Displying seconds from the off is another feature which the 3000 has which the 2010 doesn't. It doesn't make for a particularly attractive display as the countdown in seconds should possibly be in a less distracting smaller font during most of the game when it's unimportant. Still it gives confidence that the clock is correctly set when you can see the increment both at outset and being added.John Upham wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 8:36 pmDo the 3000s have a quarter inch jack socket to allow the timer to talk to a DGT live board?

If you wish to work with a DGT e-board then the 3000 is suitable and a 2010 is not.Joseph Conlon wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 11:39 amIs there a particular reason for DGT 3000s rather than DGT 2010s? I ask as I am using receipts from the junior rapid plays I am running currently to build up an equipment stock to avoid having to borrow too much, and I am wondering if there is a reason to justify the extra £20 a time for a DGT 3000.
