My son won this one when he was starting chess, he was particularity happy as it was a Legal's mate and remembered seeing it in one of the Yusupov books.

In the Covid event, I managed this old favourite, 1.d4 Nf6, 2.c4 e5, 3.dxe5 Ng4, 4.Nc3 Nc6, 5.Bf4 Bb4+, 6.Nd2 Qe7, 7.a3 Ngxe5, 8.axb4 Nd3 Mate

There may have been shorter games, but I recall this 9 move victory at the opening round of the Minor at Crewe in February 1997



Game lasted less than 20 minutes. I then had to wait until 11pm as the person who drove me was last to finish in the Intermediate.

I'm not sure if opening traps in blitz arenas should count but I finally managed to find a victim in this off beat line of the Dutch tonight:

1 d4 f5 2 h3 Nf6 3 g4 hg 4 hg Ng4 5 Qd3 Nf6 6 Rh7 Rh7 7 Qg6 mate.

I emulated Justin with 1.f4 e5, 2.fxe5 d6, 3.exd6 Bxd6, 4.Nf3 g5, 5.h3 Bg3M in an online Rapidplay recently.

sorry if been mentioned but Gary Kasparov lost a quicky recently by playing the queens gambit accepted.
Think it was only 7 moves
