English Events Providing Norms since 2010
(I ought to know these details but shamefully I don't.)
Which OTB English events (apart from 4NCL) from 2010 onwards have resulted in norms being awarded to English players?
I am thinking of WIM, WGM, IM and GM norms.
Thank-you for your help.

You can see English norm recipients here https://ratings.fide.com/titles_page.phtml
So this will give you a starting point if you want to trawl through

Big Slick 2013 had norms for Yang-Fan and Alan Merry. I can't immediately think of other English norms (I know there were non English).

Most of the British Championships over that period have had title norms, though I can't remember all of them off the top of my head.

Did you mean that norms were available or that norms were obtained or both?

Both. (The most recent was Charlie Storey's second IM norm in 2019.)

Re: English Events Providing Norms since 2010
Thanks. My intention is to document when and from what events norms were obtained.IM Jack Rudd wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 5:07 pmBoth. (The most recent was Charlie Storey's second IM norm in 2019.)
I then intend to do the same for the 1970 - 1980 period and then compare that period with 2010 to the present.
Hopefully we can learn something from this analysis.

Re: English Events Providing Norms since 2010
Particularly in the early 1970s, there were few Norm opportunities, despite arguably there being more strong players in sixth form, university and post graduate age ranges who would be among the prime norm seekers.John Upham wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 5:27 pmI then intend to do the same for the 1970 - 1980 period and then compare that period with 2010 to the present.

Re: English Events Providing Norms since 2010
I'm not sure how much of a comparison is possible. I believe only 2 norms were needed then compared to the three now. So even if norms were as frequent then, fewer would be required/obtained.John Upham wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 5:27 pmI then intend to do the same for the 1970 - 1980 period and then compare that period with 2010 to the present.
Also there were a lot more unrated players (though you were allowed two of those in a norm, compared to one now) who would prevent norms being possible.
Note: I am simplifying the norm requirements in the above statement rather than bore people with rating floors etc.
