Clock donation

Dear All
About 18 months ago in the face of the oncoming. Covid 19 I was required to close the Stafford Library Junior Chess Club.
A short time later the library closed for the same reason.
During this short time a man entered the library. He did not identify himself but handed over a small case containing twelve analogue chess clocks to the library staff saying, "I hope your chess club can find some use for these". He then withdrew. My efforts to trace this man have met with a negative result.
Some of the clocks are marked C&NWCA.
I would like to assure this man that these clocks are in safe hands and that they will be put to good use.
Thank you.
Alan Ruffle
Coach Stafford Library Junior Chess Club.

Maybe the markings are Cumbria and North West chess association? Most county teams had their own sets of equipment at one time or another but as that competition has been declining I am sure there are lots of ex captains who have ended up with a pile of sets and clocks in their storage which is never likely to be used again.
