can you show me the computer analysis of the world champions, what ive seen does rate lasker highly

One of Lasker's many skills was 'sometimes' not playing the best move
but playing the move that set his opponents OTB problems to solve.
(not deliberatly play 'bad' moves as Reti suggests, good practical moves.)

So standard computers will not like his choice of moves and score him accordingly.
It won't be a low score. these 'Lasker moves' will pop up 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice and
he would have played many many more 1st choice moves.
Alpha Zero might give him a better score.

No Tarrasch! I refuse to register a vote that places Tarrasch in the 'other' box.
(take out Tal, everyone likes Tal, change the heading to 'Who is your 2nd favourite player' and add Tarrasch.)

Tal has no votes so far, i would much prefer replacing old Siegburt(not sure of spelling) with old Victor Korchnoi.

but victor was not the victor, nigel short also deserves a mention

This thread has not gathered much interest, the replies have been all about who is not on the list.
It appears making a list was a slight error and it would have been better to title the thread;

“Who is Your Favourite Player?” (and no list with poll bars)

Then we would have seen plugs for ‘Nezhmetdinov ‘ even though most only know
of and have only played over one game of his games (the Qxf6 one against...er...)

The end gamers always tout for Rubinstein (not on the list either).
Polugaevsky is a common choice by those that enjoy showing off by proving they can spell it correctly.

Perhaps the title of the new thread should be“Who is Your Favourite Player (that you have never met?)”
Because I enjoy being in the company of Keith Ruxton and Dave Archibald (both are not on the original list.)

I will add my favourite obscurov cheatinski but i might have the spelling wrong.

magnus isnt very entertaining in my opinion winning drawn endgame after drawn endgame is about as entertaining as watching paint dry.

I think Alan is saying he wants more exciting play. If so, what about Labourdonnais for a choice? He didn't fuss about the odd pawn or two and could not be accused of pusillanimité (a criticism which was levelled at Staunton and St. Amant by Deschapelles). He was the strongest player in the world until the day of his death and no-one thought of questioning it. How many others could say that?
