It's from MAD magazine - essential reading even today.

I'd like to find the cartoon that had Fischer amused, I read that he was at Erasmus Hall High School at the time.
(same class as Barbara Streisand and a class or two above Neil Diamond) https://www.erasmushall60.com/class_custom4.cfm
but I've seen so many depicting old men asleep at the board I'm thinking it may not have been in MAD.

Hi Alan,

Here is a link to that game you played. I used it to wrap up the piece on stalemates.

Thanks again.
is that fact that capablanca lost against all 100 simul master players actually true???? nice blogg
It was "Casablanca", not Capablanca - a single letter evidently makes a great deal of difference :D

Jozsef Kreijcik, a strong Viennese master, did reportedly once play a simul of 25 games - and lost the lot.

Rumours that the imbibing of certain alcoholic liquids were a significant factor have not been confirmed.

Hi Matt,

Casablanca would not have pulled them in and if I did Casablanca everyone would have
thought I have forgotten how to spell his name...again!

There are also the 'web crawlers' to consider.
Many years ago, the previous century, I told that 'web crawlers' grab key words in titles (here 'Capablanca' and 'Chess' ''loses')
and put them into the search bin. I have always tried to add the word 'Chess' in every title. (do these things still crawl about.)

i was black and have just played Rac8 thinking i had won...what move does he play?
i actually just noticed if i had played Rhc8 instead of Rac8 previous move after 1 h6+ if 1...Kh8?? comes 2 Re8+! when 2...Rxe8 allows 3 Qxd4 so the only move there is 1...Kf8 when the checks dissipate
