Very rusty I make a blunder in first otb of 22-23
rather suspiciously 9 pawns on the computer down but not in a 100% losing position (with human play), my opponent resigned.

Re: Very rusty I make a blunder in first otb of 22-23
points to note i made my blunder with 7 Nxe5 because i mistook the position to have a knight on c6 and didnt fully understand due to rustiness that the knight on d7 made all the difference. he made his blunder because he thought 10 ...Ng8 led to 11 exd6 winning a piece anyway but he missed 10...dxe5!? 11 dxe5 Ng8 when a double edged battle between the king stuck in the centre against the extra material for black made it even

What is suspicious? What do you think your opponent has done improperly?

That really is pretty bad for OTB.

He's four pawns down in an ending where you have connected passed pawns on the fifth and sixth - why wouldn't he resign?

Perhaps I can make a plea for games published on this forum to have some little value.
Nxe5 was such a bad move that it deprives this game of value - it's not as though we're talking blitz here.

More generally, I don't object to less than masterful games being posted on here - if there is a wider point to them.

Somewhat less crass and tedious is this position from 2002:
White mistakenly but confidently played 54. De5 and Black resigned.

I just found the standard of play almost criminally weak, but I accept that may be as much a fault in me as anything else.

I've seen posts from you that are crass and tedious - is it really helpful to comment in that way.?

Now, the position John posted - ouch!
(though I'm not completely sure whether White or Black deserves that more)
