Hello ECF,
I'm looking for a suitable home to display my Les Guerre Des Verre chess set, pix. Its big 90 x 90 x 60cm approx but
quite fascinating. It has done a number of exhibitions around London but now is boxed up with me in Blackheath.
If anyone like the look of the piece has any idea's where might be a home suitable for it's display for a period or permanently
please send me a short intro message and we can take it from there.

After approaching the English Chess Federation about my Bob Wade memorial portrait Robert Walks Through Water (3,4), now hanging close to Bob's book collection at DMU's Chess Library, Leicester. A man contacted me saying the ECF had given him my name & number re some chess art for an exhibition he was organising at Nottingham Museum I think it was. I explained my idea for a chess table with glass pieces built up of up-cycled domestic 3-D glass table items 1950’s desert dishes, candles holders & sticks, salt & pepper seller etc from Deptford Market.

I am trying to imagine playing bullet chess with this chess set...

Are the pieces as delicate and breakable as they look? (They look fabulous, in case that wasn't clear. though I am a bit in two minds about the plumes of something on the knights, presumably intended to be horses' manes?) The bishops don't look identical either, which could be confusing?

Well spotted re Bishop's odd one out, needs must, but it's got the general shape, and a foot to pick it up by )

Have you attempted to play shot glass chess with this set?

A familiar and entertaining pursuit for student chess clubs.

Have you tried the Art Gallery in the Village? They could be interested, especially if you want to sell.

... and if you're going to put it on display it's best to have the board the right way around!
