Can anybody tell me about Victor Henkin? He wrote some good books, sveral for Batsford, also collaborated with Averbakh, yet I can not validate his GM title mentioned in the publisher's blurb. I'd be very grateful as all my sources have fallen flat. Can anybody enlighten me?

Re: Victor Henkin
Probably Viktor Khenkin?
I believe the "Kh" is pronounced "h"?
(Transliterations are frequently a problem!)

I only found a couple of games under that name, both in Moscow.
Didn't the Soviet Union award internal GM titles for those it didn't permit to travel?
