Mega Database 2010
Chess & Bridge are charing £69.95 to upgrade to the new version (last year the price was £39.95).
Chess Direct are charging a more reasonable £44 but I don't want to be at the mercy of the post, especially at this time of the year.
I would wait until Hastings but I cannot find out who will run the bookstall there and I suspect it will be C&B.
Does anyhone have a bright idea on where I could travel by train on Saturday to upgrade? I am happy to make a day out of it.

If you have the 2009 version, yuo could save yourself a small fortune by just downloading the updates from the TWIC website over the last year and then importing them to your database?
Obviously, that won't get you the annotated games if you're keen on them

If the post is an issue for you, presumably you could pay Chess Direct extra for Royal Mail Special (guaranteed next day) Delivery and that would still be a lot less than Chess & Bridge.Tim Spanton wrote:Chess & Bridge are charing £69.95 to upgrade to the new version (last year the price was £39.95).

Might be worth calling C and B and having a word with Malcolm, he will often price match

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess another way is to find a suitable weekend congress with a bookstall.

Re: Mega Database 2010
Is Mega Database 2010 supposed to contain the same games as chesslive.de that you can access with Chessbase 9 Light?
If so, then the coverage of last season's 4NCL is incomplete (I just checked whether my own games were there). For example the final May weekend only appears to feature division 3. Other UK events such as the British, the Scottish champs, Paignton are present. Even some lesser known events like Frome and the Uxbridge tournament are there- but not the 4NCL in full.

Roger, the most recent games for you in there are vs Mssrs Rabbitt and Davey from the 4NCL if that's any help.

Re: Mega Database 2010
The online database chesslive.de isn't the same as Megabase then. The criteria for inclusion in one and not the other does seem a bit erratic though. Are there any of my games from Naujac 2009 in Megabase? These are included in chesslive.de but nowhere else on the web. As one of the IM participants works for CB from time to time that's probably not a surprise.James Coleman wrote:Roger, the most recent games for you in there are vs Mssrs Rabbitt and Davey from the 4NCL if that's any help.
