It would appear that Brett Addison wishes to play draughts : fingers crossed he will play h5 at some point.John Upham wrote:Simon Williams is trying another interesting a3 idea; this time in the QGD, Blackburne Variation.
My spidey sense says this game could end amusingly but not for Black...
The response times for the lives games feed seems poor and there is no coverage from PlayChess : perhaps the string is drying out?

10..Sd7 was a novelty

Yes (and no...) since I had forgot it was me hosting this one - some of the settings left over from the London classic weren't really appropriate for the DGT softwareIan Lamb wrote:williams is a queen for 2 pieces up now! yes they seem better now Carl was it you who did something?

Re: Hastings
thats what made it slow then Carl? Si williams first with a win already vs Brett Addison.Keith Arkell Looks like he grinding a nice win here i think the exchange sack buy black look very Risky in Arkell game.Hebden looks worse looks like the carlsen line paid off for Don mason but mason is in timetrouble.Jack Rudd lost for a time I think he had a decent Position.
Re: Hastings
looks like hebden done Don Mason in timetrouble he now better.Keith won now nice game from Keith.

Re: Hastings
Talsma's exchange sac against Arkell was risky, but arguably the right choice against Keith - if he'd allowed a swap of dark-squared bishops, he'd have given Keith a lovely positional advantage and had no counterplay.
Re: Hastings
Is Marusenko really down to 50 seconds for 7 moves v David Howell?

Quite possibly - they get 30 secs added per move though....

I think Mason was better before what you think Anthony?but big timetrouble cost Don Mason.David Howell far from having it all his own way as well.Howell won Marusenko must have lost on time?

I'm not sure, Hebden always had plenty of dark square play for his two pawns and of course the time situation was in his favour.Ian Lamb wrote:i think mason was better before what you think Anthony?
