Accusation against Alejandro Ramirez
My distaste for this individual, a luminary at the St Louis Chess Club, has been well vented previously. However, I did not expect to see Jen Shahade out him as a serial predator on young female chess players.

Sounds like you'll be having the last laugh against him if all these allegations lead to a prosecution.
Was this the same reason you personally disliked him or something else?

Lose one queen and it is a disaster, Lose 1000 queens and it is just a statistic.

Good enough for me if he is just discredited and loses his position at St Louis Chess Club - presumably a good one to have.Joey Stewart wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 9:27 pmSounds like you'll be having the last laugh against him if all these allegations lead to a prosecution.
No, it was his post game interviews at the Sinquefield Cup.Was this the same reason you personally disliked him or something else?

Assuming St Louis chess survives this, I hope never to see the little creep there again - in future years, obviously.
As I have been saying ad nauseam, the solution lies with CAS.

But if we are being honest, what are the chances of him being the only titled player guilty of that charge.

You have to run Google translate or similar as well.IM Jack Rudd wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 11:05 amPlease will you start linking to the relevant subpages and not the websites as a whole.
It's by Pete Doggers, so I expect there's an English original somewhere, possibly chess.com.
The accused player interveiwed Niemann in a manner said to have be biased and designed to make Niemann look bad.

We don't know he is guilty. In answer, to your question, er, "zero"?

I think the allegations are so serious that our opinions on whether he is a good or bad broadcaster are not relevant.

As I mentioned a couple of times before, I have problems with my links as I only have access to the forum and the Internet from my mobile phone.
I always try to post the correct link wherever I can.
Any help will be much appreciated.
I have found a lot of events to post in the Congress Diary Category. I will try to post the direct link but may need some help from forum members.
Many thanks, Simon.

My complaint is not that he is a bad commentator,* but that he abused his privileged position as an postgame interviewer for personal advancement. I knew nothing about his alleged abuse of his position as a senior chess coach in relation to young female students, but given what I already did know about his character I do not find it all that surprising.Mick Norris wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 1:05 pmAgree with this, though I'm not sure that's what Nick meant upthread
* Which I do think he is, relying heavily on "this is a blunder, the computer says it is -1.3".

I can think of a certain English GM with a far worse reputation than him, I'm sure you know who I mean. Unfortunately, some of us have seen him in action firsthand on that front, and more than once or twice.NickFaulks wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 7:36 amWhat is your point?MJMcCready wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 1:51 amBut if we are being honest, what are the chances of him being the only titled player guilty of that charge.
