Who Annotated these games?

Post by John Upham » Mon Feb 20, 2023 11:21 am

Using Chessbase 17 and looking at the "Live" folder (an excellent new feature) we have the Cambridge International Open.

Some of the games are labelled as being annotated by

[NA RC COMBH]

and some by [TA]

I assume that these are persons initials but whose initials are they?

Has someone transcribed comments from the live commentary?

Any help would be much appreciated. :D

How many of these games actually have annotations? I had a quick look and found one game with what looked like computer generated annotations. No other games had annotations, despite naming an annotator.

I found a number but it appears to be quite random.

I have asked Shohreh Bayat and Natasha Regan.

It reads as if computer generated. Any chance that it's chessbase throwing in some auto analysis?

Yes, I agree Roger. Luckily I downloaded the games before CB removed the icon on its "live" feature otherwise perhaps they disappear into the ether.

Steffen Giehring has informed me that [TA} means Tactical Analysis and is automated as we surmised.

He is getting back to me about [NA RC COMBH]

To access the events that were "Live" and have fallen off that list go to

Yes, there is plenty of that sort of "analysis" in Chessbase's own articles.
