KvK is conventionally treated as a draw, I think.

Whether that's true or not (I think the ending B+3 vs N+1 was a draw), is irrelevant. I was merely correcting your post which said that he won, when he didn't.

i said it look like he beat negi if you see what i put not that he had won.If you go through the endgame you see David missed wins.

I agree perhaps i should make allowances for your appalling grasp of the English language

I think most would assume that "look(s) like he beat" has exactly the same meaning as "he had won". Otherwise one would expect to see "looks like he will beat..." or "looks like he is beating...".

I'm sure he might have missed wins. Not when he had B+3 pawns vs N+1 pawns though, I think.

When I was watching the Short game yesterday, I was wondering whether he had to lash out with the admittedly positionally horrible 27.. g5 to try to create some play. I didn't have an engine running at the time, but I now see with the aid of Junior that the calm 28 Kg1 g4 29 hg4 Qg4 30 Nd3 leaves Black looking rather silly. I suppose I should have realised g5 is hardly a GM move.

Short much better from the opening (another QGD) as black v Anand, two pawns up for nebulous compensation....

Not sure, Leonard. Black's pieces are stuck around the edge of the board and White has quite a lot of development for the two pawns. e5 looks a little loose and if 1 pawn comes back, that might be compensation. Nonetheless, well done to Nigel for having a go with Black.

Howell in his usual time trouble has messed up what should have been an easily drawn rook ending against Harikrishna. Anand has also turned the game round.

Still looks drawish, though.

At what point was it easily drawn and at what point did he mess it up?

27...R8a4 or Rxc3 should be much simpler for Black, though I'm not sure whether Harikrishna missed a clear winning plan in the game as played.
