I am sure you have all been waiting for this development...

I have obtained detailed technical documentation provided to council employees on how to correctly install and align a concrete chess table (but not the chairs).

Providing installation instructions showing a 5x5 squares board with white squares in all four corners probably doesn't help much in getting the board the right way around.

Is there another prize available for asking why the instructions are in German?

Maybe a prize for the best answer - it doesn't matter what language they're in because the installers won't bother reading therm.

Why do you think it does not show the correct alignment of the chairs to the table. The drawings show the engagement element on the underside of the table running parallel with the position of the seats. As long as the board is correctly aligned, when manufactured, there should be no issue with incorrect alignment.

The problem comes with the base being able to be installed in any of the four positions, so the installers don't look at the drawing and just drop the table top on and it is down to pure chance whether it is the correct way round.

Why do they call them chess tables?
