My advice, having watched these guys work at close hand, is: be patient over the additional boards.

They get Bd 1-6 up and running; then make sure nothing 'falls over'. If that goes well, they set to prepare further boards by tomorrow; and so on.

Why can't they test everything well in advance, so that all top 16 boards are 'live'? That would assume they could get access to the venue; that the hall was set up ready; that they'd travelled down in time; that they had a team of dozens; that they'd encountered no snags to date.

Believe me, Dave Clayton, Steve Connor etc do stunning work so that we can watch at our leisure. They are simply volunteers, usually working onsite with unfamiiar technology from the hosting venue. At best, they'd have had access from yesterday to set up and run quality checks. In a day or two, we'll have more boards - but only if local systems can support the output. Even then, more boards generate more 'hits' which in turn can crash the server.

I repeat: be patient. They know what you want. It's the same as they want. And they are heroically professional in providing it.

See http://www.livestream.com/leylandchess for Andrew Martin's commentary.

I can see the games (top boards only) in Internet Explorer but not Firefox. I think the same thing happened last year and was quickly fixed (once reported).

I can see them OK in Firefox. Check that you have the latest version, and that you have the latest version of the flash plugins?

I can see a chess board but no sign of any commentary.

I can hear something that sounds a bit like what I imagine Andrew Martin swimming under water with a bunch of junior chessers would sound like. Are they at a leisure centre?

In the meantime ... I seem to have lost Williams' game and Adams doesn't seem to mind it up him after all.

Adams has won - that seemed quite convincing.

The King's Gambit is busted.

It sometimes needs a full F5 type refresh, a white box or indeed more usual a black square is an indication of this being the case

I can only agree with these comments!

Yours truly is of course (as usual...) providing the servers FOC for the live games :)

Missed this one though, let's hope not but yes it's possible - the load is caused by the way the DGT software works

The ECF have three servers at their command for this one

Something has happened in the Stephen Gordon game, could we have a shock after all?
