Another good idea to add to the list on "ECF Rules for Events Played Under Its Auspices" document
Chess Amateur.

According to the results on the e2e4.org.uk website you only played Sunningdale of the three qualifying events (UXB Feb ; WAR May and SUN May).
You did play Uxbridge last September, but that wasn't one of the three qualifying events.

Sean

You're correct. The odds are slightly different, although the difference is marginal.Richard Bates wrote:Hmm. Instinctively it feels as if it still doesn't quite add up!
Doesn't 1odd have a marginally lower chance than 1even? Similarly 2even has a lower chance than 2odd.
However, as everyone was randomly allocated a number and odd or even the chance of any player winning is identical.
This is just a way of allowing people to "see" the draw instead of me simply saying I've done a draw and xyz has won.
Of course, I could have drawn them out of a hat at Sunningdale. But, I forgot
Re: e2e4.org.uk Golden Entry Form
The first number drawn was 23 and the bonus ball was 31 [odd] so the winner with 23 odd is...

Whose hat would you have used? Would it have been FIDE approved?Sean Hewitt wrote:

It would have to have been one approved by the ECF. In accordance with their document on how to run events, it would have had to be a certain size, and of a particular style!John Upham wrote:

and now you are associating "style" with the ECF?

I'm happy for you to pull it out of a hat at home if it's easier. I highly doubt anyone would think you'd fix the draw.

You reckon? If I'd done that and Hans Richter had won there would have been a steward's enquiry!!Gareth Harley-Yeo wrote:I'm happy for you to pull it out of a hat at home if it's easier. I highly doubt anyone would think you'd fix the draw.
