Re: Junior chess clubs and CRB clearance
Almost all schools will require an extended CRB clearance for either their individual school or for the LEA that they are a part of.William Metcalfe wrote:Can anybody please clarifie what the law is on Junior sections and CRB clearance i have heard so many versions i am really confused
You may get a foot in the door with another recent one from another school but its up to the school concerned.
If the school requires one from you they will normally pay the fee.
I have some from various schools plus an invidual one from my chess club.
If you claim to be a volunteer then the fee will be exempted. I have never paid for one personally.

Re: Junior chess clubs and CRB clearance
For a school chess club the school will insist on helpers being CRB cleared. But I do not think there is any law for junior sections of adult chess clubs but it would be good practice for those running it/helping to have CRB clearance. It is also good to have a child protection policy.
