I have seen fritz 12 produce mates in 15-20 in relatively simple winning endings but I expect there are possibly even longer ones when using a strong computer and given the right position.
Any opinions expressed will not be held to account.

Karjakin v Shirov, World cup semi-final 2007 (or was it 2008?): Shirov had rook and bishop v two knights (no pawns). He had to agree a draw because the 50 move rule would bar any winning attempt, but for what it is worth apparently the computer found that (the rule apart) Black could have mated in 208, or similar! Chessbase had "Shirov misses mate in 208" as their headline, if I remember - that might help you to find it.
